Duo Arrested After Being Indicted for Commercial Sex Trafficking of a Minor and Other Charges in Tennessee

TENNESSEE — A six-month state law enforcement investigation has led to felony human trafficking charges, including commercial sex trafficking of a minor, against two people in Tennessee.

Tristin Epperson, 25, and Clarissa McKinney, 33, were arrested Monday after being indicted last week by a grand jury in Meigs County. The county seat of Meigs County, Decatur, is about an hour southeast of Nashville.

Special agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Human Trafficking Unit started investigating the pair about six months ago when authorities heard about Epperson and McKinney interacting with a juvenile, according to a recent TBI news release.

Epperson was indicted on charges of commercial sex trafficking of a minor, six counts of statutory rape and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

McKinney was indicted on charges of commercial sex trafficking of a minor, six counts of facilitation of statutory rape and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Epperson’s bond was set at $100,000, and McKinney was released on her own recognizance.
