Two Omaha Men Fatally Shot in Speedway Parking Lot Before Iowa Concert Saturday Night

IOWA — Two men were fatally shot in the parking lot of an outdoor concert in Iowa on Saturday night, according to state law enforcement.

The two men in their late 20s were killed in the shooting at the I-29 Speedway in Pacific Junction, a news release issued today by the Iowa Department of Public Safety states.

Pacific Junction is a historic railroad near the Nebraska state line south of Omaha along Interstate 29.

The Mills County Sheriff’s Office responded to the shooting just before 9 p.m. Saturday. Omaha residents Marcus L. Johnson, 28, and Charles A. Williams Jr., 27, were fatally shot in the speedway’s parking lot.

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, Iowa State Patrol and the Omaha Police Department are assisting the Mills County Sheriff’s Office in the investigation.
