Follows guilty plea of man convicted of first-degree murder in boy’s death
ARKANSAS — A 30-year-old Arkansas woman last week pleaded guilty to charges related to the death of her 5-year-old son, according to an Arkansas State Police news release issued Tuesday.
Ashley Rolland was sentenced to 40 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections after pleading guilty Aug. 8 to two counts of permitting abuse of a minor in Lee County Circuit Court.
Rolland’s son, Blu Rolland, was found under a floor inside the family’s home in the Moro community Dec. 16, 2022, on the day he would have turned 6 years old. Moro is about 70 miles southwest of Memphis.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case with help from the Arkansas State Police’s Criminal Investigation Division.
Rolland’s 6-year-old daughter also suffered injuries, the news release adds.
Nathan Bridges, 34, who was arrested along with Rolland, pleaded guilty last month to first-degree murder and first-degree battery in the death of Blu Rolland and sentenced to 60 years in prison, the release states.
