ARKANSAS– Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders is leading a coalition of 17 Republican governors to address what they see as a national security threat from the “Communist Party of China’s efforts to amass U.S. land.”
The Gov. Sanders-led group on Monday sent a letter outlining their concerns to the Biden Administration and leadership in the U.S. House and Senate.
The Communist Party of China has recently made “alarming land purchases” including 270 acres in Michigan near the Camp Grayling National Guard Facility, a Republican Governors Association news release says.
Part of the letter says: “For too long, we have allowed dangerous and adversarial governments to infiltrate our country. Our States will tolerate such allowances no longer…We are heartened to see some in Congress advance legislation which would mitigate this threat.”
Other governors in the River Mississippi Territory to sign the letter other than Gov. Sanders were Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds, Louisiana Gov.-elect Jeff Landry, and Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee.
