ARKANSAS — Arkansas emergency management officials in North Little Rock have confirmed the number of storm deaths from Memorial Day weekend severe weather as being seven instead of the original eight initially thought.
One of the deaths reported by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday was later determined to be non-storm related, officials said in a news release.
“We appreciate everyone’s patience as we adjust data as updated information becomes available,” said Arkansas Division of Emergency Management Director A.J. Gary stated in the release. “We will continue to keep the public apprised of developments as we receive information.”
