State Authorities: Case of Amity, Arkansas Man May Involve Artificial Intelligence, More Charges ‘Pending’

ARKANSAS — A man from an Arkansas town with a population of about 720 and 90 miles southwest of Little Rock has “additional charges pending” after his recent arrest on 30 counts concerning “sexually explicit conduct involving a child,” officials said today.

The 31-year-old suspect, Ethan Fagan, who resides in Amity, was arrested Monday following an investigation that began April 27 after Arkansas State Police received a “tip” from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

“Additional charges are pending as investigators determine what child sexual abuse material images may have been generated using artificial intelligence technology,” an Arkansas State Police news release issued today states.

Fagan was charged with over two dozen counts of distributing, possessing or viewing matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child, the release notes.

It adds that Fagan was still in custody Friday after appearing in Clark County Circuit Court Tuesday when his bond was set at $100,000.

According to Arkansas State Police, investigators “will be contacting potential victims directly,” and those with information should call (501) 618-8151.
