LOUISIANA – State wildlife agents have opened an investigation after the body of a 75-year-old Shreveport, Louisiana man was discovered in a lake last week.
Nick Isabella was reported missing May 10 by his neighbors, who said he failed to return from a May 8 fishing trip.
The case is being investigated by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries as a fatal boating incident on Caddo Parish’s Wallace Lake.
Isabella’s body was recovered from Wallace Lake by the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office the day his neighbors reported him missing.
His vehicle was found next to a boat launch, and deputies found his body by his fishing canoe.
Louisiana wildlife agents say it’s unknown how Isabella fell out of the canoe. A life jacket was not on his body when it was found.
Caddo Parish is in the northwest corner of Louisiana, bordering Arkansas and Texas.
