Democratic Governors Name MN’s Walz Leader

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz is the new leader of the Democratic Governors Association after a vote Friday in Phoenix, Ariz.

Upon receiving his new chairman title, Walz commented on the November governor’s race in another River Mississippi Territory state, Kentucky.

Walz said the Democratic Governor’s Association broke new fundraising records, which, he said, was critical to Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear’s win over Republican state Attorney General Daniel Cameron by about 5 percent in November.

In Minnesota, we’ve shown the country that when Democratic governors win, we deliver real results that directly benefit working families like expanding free school meals and expanding paid family and medical leave, while also standing up to protect reproductive rights and our democracy,” Walz said in a Democratic Governor’s Association news release.
