Kansas City Bus Station Meth Bust Nets Ohio Man 12 Years in Prison After Guilty Plea

Agents found 60 pounds of meth in two suitcases, feds say

MISSOURI — A man who attempted to transport 60 pounds of methamphetamine on a bus through Kansas City, Missouri will spend 12 years in prison.

Rogeric Romone Clark of Akron, Ohio was sentenced today in U.S. District Court in Kansas City.

Clark in April pleaded guilty to possession of meth with intent to distribute, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Missouri.

Clark was arrested in December of 2023 during a narcotics task force interdiction at a Kansas City bus station. A drug-sniffing dog alerted narcotics agents to a suitcase that belonged to Clark as he and other passengers got off the bus, which originated in Los Angeles, California, the news release adds.

Another suitcase belonging to Clark was also found to contain 30 1-pound bundles of meth, the same amount found in the other suitcase.

Clark fled on foot through a parking area after giving a detective consent to search his suitcase, but he fell down and was arrested, the release notes.
