Mississippi Man Pleads Guilty to Cyberstalking for Threatening Jewish Businesses in Series of Phone Calls

Used special Internet voice program to make violent statements

MISSISSIPPI — A Mississippi man who made “a series” of threatening phone calls using special Internet technology to synagogues and Jewish businesses in Pennsylvania pleaded guilty Monday to cyberstalking and other charges, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

Hattiesburg, Mississippi resident Donavon Parish, 29, admitted to targeting victims based on their “actual and perceived religion” and also pleaded guilty to five counts of abuse and harassment using a telecommunications device.

For two months in 2022, Parish made the threatening phone calls with a voiceover Internet protocol service, a DOJ release states.

In these phone calls Parish spoke of the genocide of six million Jews and made statements such as, “Heil Hitler,” “all Jews must die,” “we will put you in work camps,” “gas the Jews” and “Hitler should have finished the job,” it adds.

Parish faces a maximum prison sentence of 15 years and a $1.5 million fine when he is sentenced Sept. 24 in federal court.

The FBI in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is overseeing the investigation.
