MISSOURI — The Republican governor of Missouri, Mike Parson, announced that Google will locate a $1 billion data center in Kansas City.

A news release from Parson’s office says, this data center will support “up to 1,300 jobs” and add to the other “contributions” the California-based company has made to the Show Me State.

This is the first Google data center for Missouri.

“Google’s selection of the Kansas City region is another example of our state’s ability to attract and support world-class companies,” Parson said in a news release, adding, that his state “welcomes” Google to Missouri.

The Google data center will be built in Kansas City’s Hunt Midwest Business Center.
