Person of Color, Muslim Make Minnesota High Court History

University of Minnesota Law School graduate Natalie Hudson was sworn in Monday as the first person of color to hold the chief justice seat on the state’s highest court, which she’s served on eight years.

And Harvard Law graduate Karl Procaccini became the first Muslim to sit on Minnesota’s highest court when he was sworn in as an associate justice Monday.

Both Hudson and Procaccini were previously appointed to their positions by Democrat Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.
